Our Fifth Summer Workshop:
Summer Wildflowers
& Scenics in West Virginia
July 10 - 13,
2008
When a place is as wonderful as West Virginia
you owe it to yourself to see it in all of its seasonal glory – every season –
and summer is no exception. So here we are again in a different season in a
different area of West Virginia. We avoid hot and sticky so if we thought it
would be hot, humid and sticky we would not even consider having a summer
workshop there. And we certainly would not have taken up residence there. But in
these mountains the bugs are few and the nighttimes cool. We have found that at
this time of year there is an abundance of wildflowers mixed in with scenics so
numerous we never make it to all those on the agenda. The wildflowers enhance
other photographic opportunities, stand alone against uninterrupted glory and/or
make for fantastic macro work; placed in the foreground and photographed with a
wide angle they create depth within the photo. We will shoot along the
Greenbriar River Trail, the scenic highway, the glades, waterfalls, barns, all
around town and surrounding towns. For those of you who know us, you know we
will take advantage of every ‘photo op’ we can find! And even though we provide
the meals, food comes second to capturing good light.
Meals will be served out of our little West Virginia Get Away with the exception
of breakfast which will be served in the conference room of the Motor Lodge. We
begin on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in the conference room at the Marlinton Motor Inn
and end on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Price includes lodging and meals. $675.00
