Loved Grits


The Loved Grits Recipe:

This is so easy, not very healthy, but loved by everyone to whom I serve it; even those who don’t like grits. It has to be the cheese and butter!!!!

Boil 5 cups of water with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of hot sauce

Add 1 1/3 cups of regular, not instant, grits.

Cook until thick.

Now for the healthy part –

Add 1 16 oz. pasteurized cubed cheese (Velveeta)

Stir til melted and set aside for a minute

Mix in a separate pan:

½ cup melted butter

3 large beaten eggs (just use a fork)

2 4/5oz cans of chopped green chilies NOT drained

Then add that to the grits

Pour into a greased 13 X 9 dish.

Chill for 1 hour

Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until Golden Brown and puffed.

Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Then go to the Gym.
